Marie-Noëlle Jaffré, music manager and booker of the young generation of the great masters of music from India.

For about 30 years, the French born Marie-Noëlle Jaffré shared the life of the musicians and dancers in India, during which she came to understand and appreciate the tradition and creativity of their complex and sophisticated art.

Co-founder of the music management and production Kawa Music, she has been involved in many projects, including Jaipur Kawa Brass Band, Kawa Circus, Musafir, Gypsies of Rajasthan, an innovative band led by Hameed Khan Kawa, bringing some of the most eminent artists from Rajasthan to the international scenes.

She successfully arranged 50 to 60 concerts by year with sometimes 30 artists in three different countries on the same date.

Marie-Noëlle Jaffré has also initiated in 2008, in Amber, on the hill on the outskirts of Jaipur, the Kawa Cultural Centre, a platform aiming at proposing professional trainings of Indian performing arts, at encouraging creative work with artistic residences in the inspiring environment of the venue and at showcasing life performances.

Marie-Noëlle Jaffré has seen two generations of artists and has supported the ” Taleem” transmission of the music and the dance,  a cultivated art in India and passed on orally from the “ Guru” (teacher) to the “Shishyia” (disciple), from father to son, keeping alive the historical legacy .

Here, the continuity is ensured, though endangered, with outstanding artists from the rising generation.
